Most residential infrared cabins run on a dedicated 120V or 240V circuit depending on cabin size and emitter wattage — your electrician will confirm the exact requirement from the product spec sheet before installation. Larger cabins with more emitter panels almost always require a 240V dedicated circuit. Reviewing the cabin's wattage rating before ordering is the fastest way to plan your electrical rough-in.
Infrared cabins are freestanding and do not require venting to the outside the way traditional steam saunas do, which simplifies placement considerably. A flat, level floor — tile, concrete, or hardwood — and a standard dedicated electrical circuit are the two primary site requirements. Ceiling clearance of at least 7 feet and enough square footage for the cabin's footprint plus a service margin on at least two sides covers most residential installs.
